While typing out regular, horizontal text in Photoshop might be good enough for simple designs, sometimes you need something more dynamic. Curving text refers to changing the shape of your words from flat on the page, into an arc or curve along a given path. When used well, curved text can really add impact and character to your designs.

Can I change direction of where my Curved Text be going?

Absolutely! After Step 5 above, click on either Horizontal or Vertical button right beside where it says "Bend". The default setting is set horizontally like what we did earlier but you have full control as well on making your curved texts going vertically instead.

What are some common mistakes made when curving text?

One common mistake when curving text is not paying attention to the direction of the curve. It can be easy to mistakenly bend your text in the wrong direction, causing it to look awkward and unappealing. Also, be mindful of how much bend you're applying so that they are consistent with each other throughout and properly aligned.

Can I curve an entire sentence or paragraph?

It's possible, but might not always be practical or visually pleasant. You can highlight words/sentences/paragraphs (with shift+click) using Horizontal Type Tool and do the same steps as earlier if that's what you prefer. However, converting an entire body of text into a long arc would make your design difficult[or impossible] to read easily so proceed with caution.
